Motorola has added a new smartphone to its lineup in India with the launch of the Moto G96 5G, offering premium features such as a curved pOLED screen and fast Snapdragon processor in the mid-range segment.
Display and Design Features
The Moto G96 5G is driven by a 6.67-inch Full HD+ 3D curved pOLED display, boasting a 144Hz refresh rate for extremely smooth visuals and a maximum brightness of up to 1,600 nits. The screen is also backed by Corning Gorilla Glass 5 and further complimented with Water Touch 2.0 technology, built to provide improved touch sensitivity even under difficult conditions. It also boasts an IP68 rating, providing resistance to water and dust.
Performance and Storage Variants
Inside, the phone is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 chip along with 8GB of LPDDR4X RAM. It comes in two storage options:
- 8GB RAM + 128GB storage for ₹17,999
- 8GB RAM + 256GB storage for ₹19,999
The storage employs UFS 2.2 technology for quicker access to data. The Moto G96 5G comes pre-installed with Android 15, which is accompanied by Motorola's Hello UX and Smart Connect 2.0 features.
Camera Features
For camera buffs, the Moto G96 5G has a dual rear camera arrangement. The main one is a 50MP Sony LYTIA 700C sensor with Optical Image Stabilization (OIS), and the secondary 8MP lens is for ultra-wide, macro, and depth photography. Both the rear cameras can record 4K video. At the front, there's a 32MP selfie shooter and also capable of recording in 4K resolution.
Battery and Audio Improvements
Energizing the device is a powerful 5,500mAh battery with 33W TurboPower fast charging support. In terms of sound, the phone comes with stereo speakers tuned with Dolby Atmos, Hi-Res Audio certification, and Motorola's own Moto Spatial Sound for a richer listening experience.
Security and Protection
Security is managed by an in-display fingerprint reader and Face Unlock, supplemented by Samsung Knox Matrix and the Moto Secure suite of applications, allowing multiple layers of device and ecosystem-level security.
Availability and Colour Options
The Moto G96 5G will be available in India from July 16 at 12 PM onwards. It will be sold on Motorola's official website, Flipkart, and other select stores like Reliance Digital. It comes in four colour options, all PANTONE hue-inspired: Ashleigh Blue, Greener Pastures, Cattleya Orchid, and Dresden Blue.
